About Kwesi Adoko
Kwesi Adoko is a passionate and purpose-driven Certified Student Coach with a background in sales, education, and leadership. He earned his degree from Morgan State University, where he majored in broadcast communications. During his academic journey, he led student mentorship programs and was actively involved in community outreach and leadership initiatives.
Before joining Southwestern Student Coaching, Kwesi served as an instructor with Civic Works, helping over 20 students earn their high school diplomas in under a few months. He also worked extensively with nonprofits and faith-based organizations, offering consulting support in operations, team development, and strategic planning.
Kwesi is a former AmeriCorps member and has dedicated his career to helping individuals and teams reach their full potential. As a coach, he specializes in mindset, productivity, and strategic growth—equipping his clients with the tools and confidence to reach their goals.
Originally from Ghana, West Africa and born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, Kwesi lives in Calvert County with his wife, Ashley, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Together, they are passionate about faith, family, and community. On weekends, you can often find Kwesi enjoying quality time with his wife, exploring nature, mentoring young leaders, or diving into a good book with a strong cup of tea.
Kwesi loves uplifting music, storytelling, and meaningful conversation—and he finds joy in connecting with people from all walks of life. One fun fact: he’s a minister, a life coach, and even an actor in community theater productions. He’s also a dedicated learner who enjoys attending leadership conferences and sharpening his skills through books, podcasts, and workshops.
What is Student Coaching?
The Student Coaching program pairs students (ages 13-21) with a highly-trained student coach to hone in on their unique growth areas and equip them with the real-world skills they need to succeed, both inside the classroom and beyond. In addition to 1:1 coaching calls, they work together through training modules, assessments, videos, and more as part of our Student’s Edge curriculum. Parents are kept appraised of progress milestones with frequent progress reports.
